I hope that your Lenten Journey is very
meaningful. As we carry our crosses through these 40 days, let us pray
for spiritual strength just as Jesus did while he was tempted on his
journey through the desert. Please join the parish every Friday during
Lent at 6p.m. for soup & bread in the church basement, followed by
Stations of the Cross at 7p.m. in the church.
School News…
Many thanks to all the volunteers and chairperson, Tracy Greco, for a
successful and fun evening at our Mardi Gras/Fun Fair Night. Our candy
sale has come to an end, and I would like to thank ALL families for
helping with this important event. The winning family was the Reyes
Family in 5th Grade. Terra Nova Testing will be taking place for grades
3, 5, & 7 next week. Please keep these children in your prayers as they
prepare for these tests. Spring Pictures will be taken on Wednesday
March 10th—dress clothes day. Spring report card pick-up day is set
for Friday, March 12th. There will be an early dismissal that day at
11:15a.m. Teachers will be available for a brief conference with any
parent/guardian between the hours of 1-4p.m. If you feel you don’t need
to meet with your child’s teacher there is no need to attend. All report
cards will be sent home with your child that day if balances are up to
date: tuition, church payment, & extended day. Thank you for your help
with this important matter. Please share with others our OPEN HOUSE date
of March 12th from 5-7p.m. For every new child that you refer, you will
receive $100.00 off per child of your April 2011 tuition statement if
they register at Sacred Heart School. Sacred Heart Women’s Club will be
hosting their annual St. Joseph Table after all Masses on 3/20 & 3/21—all
of you are invited! On that same day, March 21st, we will be having our
School Family Mass at 9:00a.m. Please join us for a prayerful Mass and
sweet treats right afterwards. If you are able to help by donating a
sweet treat for the St. Joseph Table, please drop it off with your child
on Friday, March 19th, or just bring it when you come to Mass that
weekend. I am so excited about our yearbook that is on sale. Please make
sure to purchase one as it contains many great memories & events with
ALL the children. Please make sure to turn items in by the DUE DATE
because we have deadlines to meet in the office, we appreciate your
support.
Athletic News…
Our basketball teams recently finished up their season. I am so proud of
all of the players. Many thanks to all of our coaches for the time and
talents they have shared with our students.
School Advisory Board & PTO News…
Our annual Spring Avon Sale will run from March 5th -18th. There
are a variety of items for all budgets. Please look over the information
that will be sent home with your child on Friday, March 5th. As a
selling incentive, there will be prizes for the three top sellers.
Each prize will consist of an Avon shopping bag full of trendy Avon
products. Our Pasta Dinner will take place on Saturday, March
27th at 6p.m. We would love to see your family and friends at this
delicious dinner. Please mark your calendars for a fun Night at the
Races on April 22rd – everyone had a great time last year. If you
know of anyone who is able to donate prizes for our raffles that
evening, please let us know in the office. We are always looking for
great prizes. As always, thank you so much for helping out with all of
our important fundraisers. The purpose behind our fundraisers is
to help our school remain academically strong. The cost of tuition at
Sacred Heart is significantly less than the cost incurred to educate
each student, and raising these funds is one way to off-set the
difference---your support is needed and appreciated!
